Morning Remarks
9:10am - 9:15am

Antonio Delgado
Lieutenant Governor Designate
Rep. Delgado spends every day in Congress focused on creating a vibrant local economy, working with local, state, and federal partners—regardless of party—to get results. From improving access to quality, affordable health care, to helping rebuild American manufacturing, to expanding rural broadband, to serving our nation’s veterans, to protecting our small businesses and family farms, Rep. Delgado is dedicated to working across the aisle and fighting what upstate New Yorkers need. During the 116th Congress, Rep. Delgado received the Chamber of Commerce Spirit of Enterprise Award and the Jefferson-Hamilton Award for his bipartisan legislative work. 10 of his bills were signed into law by President Trump, including the Family Farmer Relief Act of 2019, the Strengthening Financial Aid for Students Act, and the Improving Benefits for Underserved Veterans Act. So far in the 117th Congress, Rep. Delgado has sent 8 pieces of legislation to President Biden’s desk for signature. These include the Direct Support for Communities Act, the Small Business Relief Accessibility Act, and the Clean Water for Rural America Act.
This Congress, nearly 90% of the legislation that Rep. Delgado has cosponsored is bipartisan. As one of the most bipartisan Members of Congress, Rep. Delgado takes seriously his responsibility to be a voice for his constituents across the district, and holds himself accountable to them. In 2021, he was recognized as Congress's fourth most bipartisan Member of Congress and the most bipartisan Democratic Member of Congress by the Common Ground Scorecard.
Rep. Delgado has held more than 65 town halls over the course of his two terms, in all 11 counties in the 19th Congressional District. Rep. Delgado is also committed to ensuring transparency and accessibility: he created four bipartisan, locally-based advisory committees on the priorities important to NY-19, including Small Business, Agriculture, Health Care and Veterans. He also opened five district offices so that everyone can have their questions answered, issues addressed, and voices heard.
Rep. Delgado is the Chairman of the House Agriculture Subcommittee on Commodity Exchanges, Energy, and Credit. The Congressman also serves on the House Small Business and Transportation & Infrastructure Committees.
